The 75x-655 AS-I Master Module connects AS-Interface systems to higher-level fieldbus.

The module functions as master for the AS-Interface and as slave for the fieldbus.

The 75x-655 AS-I Master Module is an M4 master according to the AS-Interface V3.0 Specification.

Well:

• Up to 62 AS-Interface slaves can be connected to each AS-I line,
• The transfer of analog signals is integrated into the masters and
• In accordance with V3.0, all slave profiles support combined operation types 1 to 5 and acyclic write and read operations.

AS-I functions are provided both cyclically and acyclically via fieldbus.

In cyclic data transfer, up to 32 bytes of I/O data are transferred for AS-I line binary data. Free looping process image areas can be mapped to analog values. Additionally, the new AS-I specification data for analog signals and all other commands can be transmitted to the management channel via fieldbus.

Fault diagnosis that goes well beyond AS-I specifications facilitates the detection of both irregular configuration errors and AS-I communication interfaces. Automatic setup mode enables the creation of an AS-Interface network via sequential slave setup without the need for any addressing tools.

Signal transmission, operating status and trouble-free internal bus communication are indicated by LEDs.
